Climate Change & Sustainable Infrastructure
Nasir Malik’s Vision for Building a More Sustainable Texas
We must build a climate-resilient state, and in order to do so, we must invest in building a more sustainable Texas. That means incentivizing the building of sustainable infrastructure in new government buildings, expediting construction of transmission lines to bring wind and solar power to our cities, and to require that 50% of the state’s electricity come from renewable sources by 2030 and 100% by 2050. As our next Senator, Nasir will also fight to add the cumulative effect on the public’s health and physical property as a criterion by which air emissions permits are evaluated. We must make sure that our communities are built around sustainable infrastructure that won’t harm our children and families.
A Genuine Commitment to Climate Action & Fixing the Grid
Nasir believes in clamping down on price gouging during natural disasters and making sure the exorbitant costs incurred during the winter storm are not passed down onto consumers. He is committed to promoting weatherization and strengthening emergency planning to ensure stability during hurricanes and natural disasters.
